Rabat set for AFCON 2025 final draw at Iconic Mohammed V Theatre

The iconic Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco, is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host the Final Draw for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025.

Scheduled for Monday, 27 January, at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT), the event will reveal the group stage opponents for the 24 participating nations in the tournament.

Branding for the prestigious competition has transformed the theatre’s elegant facade, blending vibrant AFCON colours with Moroccan heritage.

Posters and logos celebrate the spirit of Africa’s most celebrated football competition, creating an atmosphere of pride and anticipation.

The Mohammed V National Theatre, inaugurated in 1961 by King Hassan II, is a cultural landmark in Rabat.

Its rich history and Moroccan architecture provide a fitting backdrop for this major event. Moroccan producer RedOne is set to deliver musical performances, adding a unique cultural touch to the occasion.

Rabat, with its beach front appeal and 1.8 million occupants, is embracing the AFCON fever. Guests and local people are enthusiastically anticipating the draw, which will be graced by public group mentors, African football symbols, and dignitaries. Among the participants are Côte d'Ivoire's Emerse Faé, Senegal's Pape Bouna Thiaw, and African legends like Rigobert Melody and Mustapha Hadji. The draw will separate the 24 groups into six gatherings of four, with the main two groups and four best third-set sides progressing to the knockouts.
